Funded by Catalyst Collective, a company of artists looking at the translation of scientific research through artistic initiatives, the Source Project is an ongoing collaboration between artists and sustainability researchers that explores the question: how can we communicate the core concepts of sustainability using art practices? for two semesters I was able to work with a group of passionate PhD and masters students, sustainability scientists, theatrical and musical artists and many more to create an exhibit for the “PLANeT Celebration”, an annual festival at the Desert Botanical Garden. The event hosted eleven exhibits included children’s activities, educational talks, communal writing, dance, musical performances, storytelling, and art installations helping to communicate sustainability solutions to all.
